Guest bovineaux Guests Posted 11/03/04 10:50 AM Share Posted 11/03/04 10:50 AM Thinking of hopping on the XR6T bandwagon in the form of a brand-new XR6T I'm trying to track down the best dealer(s) in town in terms of customer satisfaction and price deals. Any forum-recommended dealers for this? I wasn't overly impressed by the Sinclair Ford dealership in Penrith, my closest dealer, when I stopped by there a couple of weekends ago.Have any of you guys repeatedly dealt with the same salesman and walked away smiling? This is actually the first time I've ever thought of buying a brand-new car, as I'd like to see the engine and brakes run-in properly and have my own choice of colour and options, too. The XR6T also seems to have an excellent resale value so far, while also looking like a very fun and reliable drive. So far thinking of a SSS with sports leather, 18's, premium brakes (expensive kers!) and side bags plus other minor options. Colour undecided between blood orange, phantom and mercury silver :lol:Cheers guys Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/9583-recommended-sydney-dealers/ Share on other sites

Got me a great deal while he worked at Peter Warren, maybe he can do the same now he is at City Ford. He's an absolute legend, his managment at PeterWarren was another story... Guest Scootre Guests Posted 11/03/04 11:00 AM Share Posted 11/03/04 11:00 AM Considering you aren't going to see much of the sales dept after you buy the car, I'd be looking for recommendations based on the service dept.Like, you're either going to buy the car for the price on offer or you are'nt. After that, the salesman won't even remember your name.Me, I'm most happy with Hills Ford (Waitara / Hornsby). The service dept go out of their way to help. Guest Scootre Guests Posted 11/03/04 11:02 AM Share Posted 11/03/04 11:02 AM Can I suggest - so that the thread isn't shut down, that we reserve our comments to just "I can recommend xyz" - or, "I haven't been happy with abc" - instead of saying things that may get Chris sued? Guest bovineaux Guests Posted 11/03/04 11:06 AM Share Posted 11/03/04 11:06 AM True, I've seen numerous 'vendor verdict' threads and forums on other sites closed for chatter like that. So I wasn't asking for dealers to stay clear of, just ones you recommend And Scootre yep thanks I did mean general ongoing service offered by a dealer, but since I've never looked at buying a new dealer car, I didn't consider it from that point of view. He also is not part of Ford's RJV (Retail Joint Venture) so that means he has a vested interest in selling cars! The dealings I have had with City Ford (but not having bought a car from them) have also been good. One thing that I always have remembered with amusement was when I bought my last car from another dealer. I drove over to City Ford from work (in the city) to pick up bonnet and headlamp guards. While I was there, I'm thinking, "hmmm... this place might be more convenient for me to have my car serviced" (as opposed to the selling dealer). And while I was thinking that, there was suddenly this almighty commotion out in the hallway, outside of the service dept. All the customers and staff turned to see about 8 mechanics in their City Ford overalls were gathered around arguing - and two of them were rolling on the floor, punching the living crap out of each other. Right then I thought... nope, I am not bringing my car here. That was several years ago but I still have a chuckle over it.
