Thought it might be time to create a build thread on my Territory. It's a 2013 TS Petrol RWD I bought used with only 60,000k's on it. One owner with full service history and well looked after. Anyways, I had a heap of carry over gear from my 2014 G6ET that I didn't part with and had a built FG engine installed in a 2007 TS Territory RWD. Long story short, the SY required a sh*tload of money spent on the body to make it look reasonable which wasn't worth the spend. I parted everything out of it and had it taken to the tip.

So, the engine mod list as follows;

2010 FG NA donor engine

Spool pistons and conrods

Atomic valve springs

FG turbo exhaust valves

Upgraded oil pump

Engine machining etc

FG intake and exhaust manifolds

GTX3582R

Process West FG Stage 2 FMIC

Venom 4" dump and 5" cat

Custom built stainless exhaust system.

Transmission is a stock NA ZF, somehow managing to hold on for now.......

Brakes upgraded to Brembo 6 piston calipers with 355mm rotors for the front and Brembo 4 piston calipers with 330mm rotors.

Suspension upgraded to Shockworks coilovers to the front and Shockworks rear shocks and springs. Front struts were custom made to suit the SZ RWD Territory. Their off the shelf kit suited the AWD, but not the RWD model. After some discussion with Brett a custom kit was made.

The AWD yokes were tried along with the AWD sway bar from the SZ but this did not work, the kit did not work for the front. As mentioned, a solution was come up with to allow the front end of the RWD model to remain stock. A new threaded tube and bracket was quickly fabricated to allow fitment.

Brembo rears with Shockworks springs/shocks.

The original exhaust design was to split from the 4" dump into twin 2.5" cats then step down into twin 2.25" muffler inlet and single 3.5" outlet, 3.5" over the diff, then back from 3.5" single inlet to twin 2.25" outlets.

The problem with this setup was 10psi back pressure in the exhaust system pre cat @ 20psi manifold pressure. Subsequently had a new front section and muffler built, single 4" inlet to single 3.5" outlet. Not sure what the back pressure is yet as I haven't had it back on the dyno.

I found a complete Napa leather 7 seat interior from a SZII Titanium which I installed. Couldnt fit the door cards as the electrics for the windows are different from MkI to MkII.

Boost control is via a Turbosmart Eboost Street as the factory PCM didn't have boost control solenoid wiring installed. Neither did it have the boost pressure sensor wiring. PCM and ZF tuning is done with PCMTec. I've been able to enable the shift burble that the turbo's have during gearshift. Big plus to me for figuring out which parameters out of thousands to enable this. Trans tuning has taken quite a bit of effort to enable the stock ZF box to cope with the ~400rwkw the engine is making. Gearbox is going to be replaced soon with a built ZF from Monsta Torque. Rob wants me to go for the 6R80 upgrade but I can't stretch the budget at the moment. If the cryod ZF shaft breaks then I'll do the upgrade.

Future plans are to swap the PCM with a Haltech plug and play unit, wire up the boost control solenoid and boost pressure sensor and configure the flex fuel sensor. And somehow fit an external surge tank with twin Pierburg pumps, staged through the PCM.

Given my G6ET made 511rwkw on E85 with the stock motor I'm 'hoping' to achieve similar power using the same fuel in this vehicle.

Let's see.

Thanks. As for cost, fortunately I had the engine, FMIC, turbo, and other part left over. Otherwise, expect no change from $40k by the time you factor in the engine, turbo, trans, brakes and suspension, fitting and tuning.

I noticed last night beautiful orange flames coming from the exhaust on trailing throttle in 4th and 5th gear after rapidly lifting off the throttle during WOT.  It didn't do this before with the twin 2.25" and twin cat setup.

Bonus!!!

got to love that :spoton: overrun flames are basically guaranteed on a reasonably rich tune (most WOT tunes are at least a little bit fuel rich) and with either no cat or a very unrestricted cat :spoton:

After a failed attempt to wire up the RPM pickup signal for the Eboost Street I ordered a MSD 8918 GMR tach pickup. Easy fit up, I found the pink wire with the green stripe near the PCM wiring harness. Connected this to the Eboost and now am able to maintain constant boost throughout the rev range 👍Prior to this boost was dropping off from 21psi ~3000rpm to 17psi ~6000rpm.

Also charged the digital Innovate MTX-L digital unit to spare MTX-AL I had. The digital unit was hanging and frequently dropping out with E8 error. Not good. I've been running a 10% Ethanol blend with 98 octane so am keen to keep an eye on the AFR's. Engine definitely seems smoother on this blend. Can't go full E85 yet until I get the surge and twin pumps installed.

I've decided to go for the 6R80 trans upgrade through Rob, this is getting done in the next couple of weeks. 3-4 shift is really starting to hang with the engine just continuously spark retarding during the shift. The end of the trans is in nigh..........
