For the power you are making, I'm guessing they are forged items. Your car is quick, even not when tuned. My dream is to rebuild my own engine one day. I just have to get familiar with the tools and what clearances you need to check upon rebuilding. Trying to work out if I wanted 600rwkw, what internal engine parts you would need. I guess already it would include: *Forged conrods and pistons *Aftermarket cams *Surge tank? *Bigger fuel pump and injectors *Turbo upgrade *Aftermarket timing chain gears and kit *Cylinder head seals refresh. Of course I'd have to rebuild my trans too.

The ones going in it are used cp bullet forged pistons, hence coating them to make them serviceable again. Hp Academy has many courses, engine building being one of them. Look into it if you want to learn more.

I pulled the hotside and intake off yesterday, then had a beer and couldn't be farked doing any more. I also ordered a 5 bar tmap and hopefully that will keep my boost needs covered for a while. I always tell the missus, yeah this will be enough I won't need a bigger one, then nek minute I need a bigger one. I doubt I'll be maxing out a 5 bar tmap any time soon.

Might even go do some work on the car later if I can be farked.

I think I ended up getting an omni 4 bar on mine, which was a revelation after the Bosch one that had no low end resolution

Turns out the instructions for the coating stuff say DON'T use glass bead, use garnet. I thought it said DO use glass bead... So I blasted the fresh coating off with garnet, blasted the crowns to rough them up more, cleaned them up and coated them. I had literally just enough skirt coating to do the job, literally ran out on the last spray pass, but it was enough. I have plenty of crown coating, probably another 50 pistons worth. Also when swapping the media over, I dropped 3/4 of the bag of glass bead on the ground cos I missed the bag, lucky I decided to blow out under the machine before I did it. I scooped it up, swearing my arse off and all was well. Here's a pic of them completely finished, I measured them and they are spot on, so I'm very happy with that. Have a close look, you can see where the valves hit last time.
