What psi valve springs have you got in it? What boost are you going to run? Iv got 95 psi atomic springs in mine, they were all within 5psi when my engine builder tested them, he said they were a good even set. Iv heard it's hard on camshafts with real firm valve springs. Is that a concern??

I went with Kelford Extreme spring and retainer kit, they measured up at 145lbs. I'll probably run 35psi of boost give or take, it's up to the car to show me where it's happy place is when I get it on the dyno. I'm not worried about wearing out the cams etc, nearly everything is new and nothing has any wear on it. It's what you have to do to make all the boost and all the power. I could see that the 110lb crow springs were having a hard time keeping up with the boost and rpm last time, so went a bit stiffer this time.

Will be interested to see how noisy that valve train is when you start it! Probably doesn't bother you anyway with your goals. Or ironically it'll be silent, leaving the rest of us with carefully selected low noise and wear parts driving tractors haha

I don't think it'll be very noisy, it was very quite after I locked the cams. I swapped cam phasers around in the past and some are much noisier than others. The pistons will be nice and quiet this time too, as the clearance is spot on to half a thou tighter for the listed piston specs.

Although the tensioner has a lock in it, it still functions the same as the stock tensioner in all other regards. Once there is some chain stretch or guide wear it just functions as a fail safe, it only has a tiny bit of initial preload when installing. The pistons were the noisiest part of it last time, with the injectors next, then the valve train.

I would like it to be quiet, but it'll be what it is cos that's the way it is.

One of those days that felt like I was banging my head against the wall.

Fitted the alternator, starter motor, AC, PS, balancer, water pump, knock sensors, oil feed line, removed the battery tray for incoming intercooler pipes, assembled the intake manifold, welded the blow off valve into the cooler piping and drank plenty of beer.

Now that I write it out I can see I've made progress but it doesn't feel like it lol. Still farken heaps left.
