It was a pretty straight forward swap really. It is much quieter than the garrett gen2 gtx3582r and from the little bit of street driving I've done it appears to come on at roughly the same rpm. I might do a little road tuning to dial in the wgdc/boost level etc, but will put off the dyno tuning until we have some cooler weather.

Oh well Yeh I’m not impressed with the rear housings/flapper/port but for the money it’s still worth it even factoring in some re works of this area

I noticed that the wg flow path could do with a hefty lick from the die grinder but didn't have it at home so left it as is. When you think about it, this size turbo is designed to run high 20's on the ole flacon, so it's not the end of the world running lots of boost up top. FYI it makes 20psi at 3090rpm so is still on par with the slightly smaller gen2 gtx3582r.

There is a distributor in Aus that I think I've saved on Facebook but you've got yours so I might as well ask! I was thinking about getting the 3584rs but their (Pulsar) new G series also look interesting. Just not sure what to get for a SBE 08 block which in the end will be on 98oct and more than likely direct port injected water methanol with another nozzle pre TB by a decent distance. Cooling is king for me and I can still get methanol no worries. I don't drive enough km's to warrant the extra issues of E85 if anyone is asking. I forgot to ask and I know it's ramp rate and starting ramp load dependant but what was the torque difference with those two?

I have the hectic no back pressure exhaust, so with a more sedate exhaust and some wg porting it might not creep as much as it does. It is making nearly 27psi up top at 0%wgdc so perhaps not suitable for a stock bottom end. I didn't actually check the torque difference, I knew I was forgetting something lol. I'm pretty sure it made nearly 1100nm on e85 and maybe 850 on 98? I'll check tomorrow.

My BA was the same but I did no porting to the stock wastegate or a higher actuator, just stock turbo. The 3.5" system with no cat wasn't controllable over 18psi so Dave had to dial it back a bit. I preferred the 21psi (or 23?) but He wasn't keen on leaving it there lol.I'd expect yours would have way more timing so a bigger bang and more exhaust gas than what my SBE could sustain so I'm not sure I'd have the same issue exactly. Looking for a turbo that would do from 350-500kw potentially. I just want a more efficient system than pushing the stock turbo and also don't want Pulsar going a big price rise because of their popularity... I hate to say it but Garrett has their head up their arse with the G series price even though I understand R&D are big dollars I'm also confident they continuously R&D anyway so it's a part of their business! To each his own though... That's actually back to front. Less timing means that more of the bang goes out the exhaust and spins the turbo harder. Generally speaking you add timing and the boost level comes down. I would go a 66mm turbo for that power level. That's just my 2c though, there are other size turbos that will make that power too.

Boost creep means less timing which after checking it on the dyno this afternoon means less power...7awkw to be precise. E85 results soon
