Nope it's tank out. Fortunately it's not that hard to do. There are a couple of fiddly bits like doing up the filler hose to the tank but it is doable. I reckon I can have it out in 20 minutes next time.

Test drive was a big fat nope anyway. I checked the fuel feed hose and it pissed out to the front wheels so no worries there. The previous pump was struggling to squirt it 10 cm. I'll double check I haven't done something stupid in the tune, it's unlikely but possible... and I guess it'll be cheap enough to buy a fuel pressure gauge so I can watch it in the car.

I did notice that the fuel reg was moving around at idle which I haven't seen before. It usually sits at 3.7bar or so with the vac hose connected, but it was jumping between that and 4 bar, which is new.

I previously mentioned that I checked the fuel reg was working with the launch control and it did rise to 5 bar when it was building boost. I guess that's only an indication that it worked, not that it's actually rising higher with the extra boost of driving it. I can always chuck in a stock one and see if that works.

Oh well at least I've got a slightly better pump in there and there's always tomorrow :declare:

Yerp more of the same crap. The tune is fine so I went for a drive to check it. Loaded it up in 5th and saw the fuel go from 12:1 at about 2500rpm and slowly rise to 13:1 at 3000rpm.

Went home and put a stock reg in and tried again, same sh*t. I spose I'll swap out the filter baskets in the injectors and see how that goes. Unless the pump sock is blocking itself off (except it squirted a huge stream yesterday), I can't think of anything else it would be.

If anyone is interested, with the fpr800 and walbro 525, I had the car idling at 14.9:1 in open loop this morning. I checked the afr in open loop with the stock reg and it was idling at 13.2:1. All kinds of stock reg restrictions...all kindzzz.

Have you got a stainless mesh 10 micron fuel filter.   If you have the stock one maybe its blocked.   The ethanol eats the glue

I put a brand new filter in when I did the pump.

The issue arose after going to straight E85 so I'll look upstream of the filter for now.

Injectors and rail out now. The injector filters are in an adapter and they are fairly hard to blow through. I'll see if the local parts store has some and we'll see how it goes when it's back together.
