I wouldn't choose the 1050 for a stock engine and daily street use, it can make 700rwkw or something like that and wont be at full boost until 3800rpm or so. You also gotta consider what is going to bolt on vs what needs a manifold etc to work.

They spool faster than gtx gen 2 and make good power but not as much as gen 2 gtx. Other turbos, even gen 2 gtx and g series have way higher potential than what you're after. Can you even still get a gen 1 gtx3582r? Last I tried intune motorsports could get 1 for around $2750 from memory, but no one here in NZ could. That turbo is awesome. Tom Tucker Donating Members 673 Member For: 5y 7m 4d Posted 15/09/22 06:45 AM Share Posted 15/09/22 06:45 AM G35-900. 62mm compressor and turbine. Very responsive turbo, and actually suits lower boost. Its a pretty fine balance on the barra between response down low, and choking the turbine up high

Tom Tucker Donating Members 673 Member For: 5y 7m 4d Posted 15/09/22 09:56 PM Share Posted 15/09/22 09:56 PM Just re-read what you're after. I think a G35-900 will do 400kw on 98 pretty easily, but I don't know how safe it would be. It'd definitely be the most responsive option you can get for that power goal, unless you consider BW EFR options. Cost blows out when you move away from factory manifold and turbine housing, so from that perspective, a GTX3582 gen 2 is what you'd need to hit 400kw on 98. And as Puff said, it'll be lazy down low

If you're spending that much, it will be worth considering other options.
hjtrbo Bronze Donating Members 320 Member For: 14y 15d Posted 16/09/22 02:30 AM Share Posted 16/09/22 02:30 AM I've got my F6 Garret GT3582R coming up for sale soon. Flapper mod done. Minus wastegate actuator. Made 18psi all the way to 5500rpm on 98 then dropped off a little after that. Core is on the way out but was running fine when removed. Pulsar 3582R Gen 2 CHRA core would work well. PM if interested. PULSAR Ford BA/BF XR6 3582R Drop-In Upgrade CHRA – Pulsar Turbos Australia

Slowxr6t Member 566 Member For: 6y 1m 30d Location: New zealand Posted 16/09/22 07:02 AM Share Posted 16/09/22 07:02 AM My gt3582r with 45mm external wastegate and 4inch dump makes full boost of 16psi at 2600rpm till 4500rpm then drops to 14psi and holds it till 6000rpm. 400rwkw, iv bypassed stock boost solenoid and running 19psi of springs in wastegate. I was at dyno today to get car checked out. Is super responsive and very fast car. Was thinking of putting in 21psi of springs to get 18psi of boost but was advised not too for reliability because it boosts so fast down low and might bend a rod or 2. I don't think I'd want it more responsive.
