Cluster F*%K

[XR51KS]

Hey Guys, I'm trying to temporarily install a XR cluster in a G6E while the G6E cluster is sent away for repair but I get "Vehicle Immobilized, Press Select" message on the display. The "Select" button removes the message but the car remains immobilized. I plug the G6E cluster back in and the car works no problems. Any ideas if there is a pairing protocol for this?

Basically Ford (or somebody with similar experience or equipment) need to do the swap over.

Thanks K31th, I had read that thread but there are so many people saying from their experience that they are plug and play. 🤔

why would something that records your odometer be plug and play? that'd be way too easy to fake k's etc.

There are tons of cars that have non programed exhangable clusters.
