I've seen as low as $7k for your standard ross/spool combo. I'd have thought $10k would be reasonable, but that doesn't seem to cut it if you want the head tidied up, new timing gear and quieter pistons. I'm in SE QLD, so maybe away from some of the proven expertise down in Melb and Adelaide. My motor is currently fine, but planning for future! It's pretty much a 998 spec short with a Torrington set up. That would give you a lot of room for head work and have a better engine...

Would love to throw that in my BA series 2 but I just spent some coins on fixing a diff bolt failure. To spend 8.5k worth of engine upgrade plus a shed load on strengthen everything behind it. Mal Wood clutch $$$ IMS diff hat to stop bolt snapping. 700 hp short shafts Chasing the dragon.. Although it does look damn cool layed out like that. Soooo tempting. Even better go and see him and run through some options with him. An old school engine builder who has all the runs on the board

So Maxx Performance do pretty much exactly what I'm looking at for $10,400. Ive spoken to Dynomite and haven't got a price yet, but advised I should do fire rings from the start. Broad array of pricing around, that's for sure.
