Luckily it's a cheap upgrade.

I've heard it needs a wiring upgrade and a new fuel reg? Mine will never see more than maybe 380rwkw on 98. Will a 460 handle that?

You probably don't need something as big as a 460 if your ultimate goal is 380rwkw. Ask your tuner which fuel pump is a good choice for that level, as they might be able to get you one sorted pretty simply for less than a 460.

Car now has process west stage 1 intercooler, turbo side intake and x-force 3.5 inch cat back. Wanting to fit injectors, cat pipe and tune. The melbourne tuner I have spoken to says it won’t need a fuel pump upgrade. But surely this is enough to push 300? I was thinking of fitting a walbro 255 like this one myself, prior to the tune, for insurance. Will I be able to fit the pump and drive it for a few days on the stock tune? And is this a good unit to fit? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/WALBRO-GSS341-255LPH-FUEL-PUMP-ASSEMBLY-FALCON-FG-FGX-XR6-TURBO-XR8-F6-TYPHOON/282621506840?_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20191002094254%26meid%3D234c25a87b1043d48a9cb3f840e299a6%26pid%3D100889%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D292263521702%26itm%3D282621506840%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2332490%26algv%3DDefaultOrganic%26brand%3DWalbro&_trksid=p2332490.c100889.m5204

Do whatever makes you most comfortable.
G6EEEETTTT Member 27 Member For: 6y 4m 28d Posted 05/11/20 02:45 AM Author Share Posted 05/11/20 02:45 AM With the mods I listed how much power could it make? I suppose valve springs might come into play possibly as well. I think I might just fit the fuel pump anyway. I might upgrade the turbo and push it up aound 380 rwkw some day so this pump should be able to handle that. Will it be ok to drive with the 255 pump without a tune? I'm assuming the stock fuel reg will be able to keep fuel pressure to where it needs to be, and the afr's will be fine? At least to be able to drive the car to the tuner. Yes it's fine to fit the fuel pump without a tune but don't hammer your car on the way to the tuners, just stay off boost whatever mods you put in before going. Stock reg will handle it, yes, but your tuner might prefer it to be upgraded down the track.
