Good thinking 99, you wouldn't want to have to ride to work now would you. Sorry I'm tired.

I dont think the standard brakes are even suitible for a stock XR let alone one with mods.

:birthdaywish:

Must have some boogie now 100%.

Brake are shockers. I went for the DBA drilled/slotteds, it made a huge difference in the stopping power and stopped the tramlining. Congrats on the kWs enjoy ;)

Mark,

I'm pleased to hear that you are happy that you are legal.

How much did the certificate cost?

For our benefit and interest could you please post a scanned image of the proof of ADR compliance and engineers certificate.

My understanding is that you are the first on this forum to go through the process.

Thanks,

Brian

Brian,

Engineers certificates vary between $500-$800 depending where you go and what is involved for the guy to do the work.

APS hold the ADR compliance certificate, not me. The same as Ford hold the original cars ADR compliance paperwork.

I'II see what I can do with the engineers certificate as I don't have a scanner.

Congrats 100%. Now with your 375-380 kW your theoretical 1/4 mile time is approximately an 11.47 @ 119mph.

GB

Remember that a ute is heavier than a sedan by around 50k's. So it'll weigh more than the 3800 pounds you estimated my sedan at. Probably more like 4100 pounds!!

Greg I am glad you said theoretical, as when I do the math on marks ute at 4200 pounds (including driver) the APS phase III ute ran 116mph......... which demonstrates the engine is producing approx 381Kw at the flywheel. Interesting this power figure is very close to our claimed and measured fly wheel power for the phase III system. :finger:

Back to the thread.

Mark,

Thanks.

Details of interest include:

- How detailed is the report?

- Are photos included?

- What duration is the report current for?

- If it’s not sufficiently detailed what’s stopping you from making further modifications and saying they are covered by the report?

- Does the report refer to APS?

- Does the engineer include any disclaimers.

- Does the engineer have any liability if there was an major accident due to failure of modified components

- What tests, if any, did the engineer conduct?

- How much time did the engineer spend doing the assessment?

- Does the engineer review the integrity of the car’s components, and ability of such items as brakes, gearbox and drivetrain to handle the increased power?

- What does the engineer actually certify?

Brian some good questions, though best directed to the relevant NSW state authority which is most likely the Road Traffic Authority.

The requirements for an engineers certificate may vary from state to state. As I dont want to mislead you in any way, best that you verify the NSW requirements and if you have time post some information for the NSW members.

One aspect that I know for sure is that you will need to prove continued compliance to ADR 79/00 emissions. With regard to Victoria, APS will organise an engineers report on behalf of the customer. :oooh:
