We need the build number asap. Man are you in for a treat when you push that starter button  Thanks Hypno, the car is only 15 k'ms away now, and being painstakingly prepared for me (or so I hope) (or prey) for Thurs morning and I'm actually quite calm, sort of like a bit tired of the whole thing, all stubbied out (if that's possible) anyway thanks again for all the posts, and will see ya in April, Cheers

The noise when on the revs is sensational. The noise in the auto is no different, its just that you can leave it in auto, when in a grandpaish mood.At least with the tiptronic, I can play whenever I want too. The gear changes are sensational, once you remember to look at the tacho and pick up the next gear before the limiter scares the sh*t out of you.As a matter of interest, the run in says no exceeding 4500 for first 750k's. Every car I tested hit the rev limiter in 1st with the salesmen driving. Have you people experienced a salesman floggin a GT from 0 k's.Mine had 130k's( I assume hard) on the clock when I picked it up, and I used 500ml of oil in the first 3000k's, another 200ml in the next 4000k's. They say 10000 to run them in. Does that sound right.

Gday Bilabong, Demo flogging is one of the main reasons I probably wouldn't get one, as far as oil use goes I would have thought they would use a bit when new, but then I wouldnt know as I'M 34HRS 45 minutes from getting one, but Mondie, Red, or Hypno might comment as this is of interest to me too

The engine seems to get sweeter and meaner the more km l do, it seriously hauls arse now

He asked my opinion, my reply was as always, the turbo is quicker between the lights, but after the lights out on the open road no comparison. Charliewool also races a T and a GT I think I read on the Ford Forums site. they are both modded by 60kW, the GT is a lot quicker doing real driving around Calder :( I'm not even allowed to drive the T... as for modded?.. If you call putting premium unleaded in every 5th shopping trip modded, then it is!And my poor old "modded" work ute... It has Coldair & Herrod exhaust, & is flat out carrying the drinks out to Calder for 100% & the sedan boys!

Posted 16/03/04 11:36 PM Share Posted 16/03/04 11:36 PM Charlie, How many kegs fit in the back of the persuit?? bong mate,Used about 550mls first 2000kms, nothing to 3100kms, then 5lts!!, will keep an eye on consumption, Although I hit the rev limiter a couple of times during run in, and I drive the 'fox' hard, you really can't do much damage to these beasts, although I would'nt be burning up the track until at least 3000kms. And as Mondie said, these motors get better and better the more they're used. Took the 'fox' and EID to Margaret River yesterday, a good 480km round trip, nice and comfortable (cruise control on most of the way, cops very dilligent around Bunbury and Busselton), but when power needed to get past trucks and holdens........whoo hooo, into 3rd, ........growl!!!........and gone!!! awesome!! Down side.........had to wash the bugs off when we got home, took 2 stubbies to complete the job.
