Gent's, had a little run up to Bright and districts (did the touristy crap) did around 1000clicks, went with bro in law and he took his BA 220 ghia, machine definately loosening up 4000 clicks up now, so far no probs apart from diff whine will be getting that fixed, (sh!ts me a bit reminds me of an old taxi from the back seat)tried a few different fuels, found opti and vortex to be very good, stretched her legs a bit on some quiet back roads, and had a few "overtaking lane" drags with bro in law, my you run out of road quick accelerating past a speed I wont mention here, got sick of the back seat squeals though "slow down you're spoiling the trip" "do it when you're by yourself" blah bah blah anyway GT is definatley place to be at these speeds solid as a rock, superior to xr6t, and you know your going to stop quick with no shudder, these brakes are awesome, this car is awesome, bro in law couldnt believe the roar as I flew past in 2nd overtaking him, but the old rev limiter spoils the fun real quick if your not watching, anyway as Rick has said, simply an exceptional car, reckon the "T"s a chick magnet, try a red GT :hrmm:

anyway    Cheers  Rob

O.K Merc been reading your new found enjoyment with the GT, Congratulations mate. But been wondering if you were going to keep using mecturbo or we would

see your name change to something else . Maybe we could have a tongue and cheek poll should Mercturbo change his name, :glad: Could be fun as for Hypnodoc the stirrer just remind him we would all like to have GT`s but bang for buck the XR6T is still a good car and has done a lot of good for fords image after the failure of GT`s over the past years. P.s MIne is a Sep 03 and no brake shudder and I`m still loving it.

Hi Stang. Nothing wrong with the Turbo at all. As far as bang for buck goes I think they are better value than the GT, I already ordered a Typhoon, when I had my T I either got a bad car or bad mechanics trying to get it to boogie. The only think I don't particularly like about the car is the speed limiter. Like the GT, FPV have set it much higer in the F6 255kph. Just to clarify things. I LOVE THE T. :banghead:

Like Rick and everyone say, the xr6t is awsome we all know this, I loved it, had a fantastic run, very few minor issues, exceptional bang for buck value, especially modded a bit, spend $10k on APS 2/3 and trick up the brakes and tranny a bit and you destroy GT'S, CLUBBIES, put SS'S in the toilet. I love xr6t and the whole concept well done Ford. As for the username, well, just a tad lazy. I love both cars so it can stay MercT. Some of us just want to try a big roaring GT V8, its hard to explain, just love em both for what they are, its all good.

Anyway Cheers Rob

Hey dude was only kidding bout the name change wouldve been a fun pole.

All is said in jest I guess I consider myself lucky to have a 50k car and know that theres a lot of people that never will, I could have got a GT but then I would have had to borrow money as well, I found it difficult to spend more than 50k on a car that was my cut off point as by nature I am very conservative when it comes to spending hard earned money. If the Turbo had have cost me moree than 50k I wouldnt have bought. Even though I love it.

Its all perceived value for money Stang, main thing is that your happy with your car.

I put a Manta centre muffler, SS Big Mouth, 80mm T/Body and 80mm Helix plate on the car during the last week, got some boogie now Pppppphhhhhhhwwwwww.

Took it down a very long deserted country backroad this afternoon and I now know the speed limiter starts surging the GT at a smidgin under 260 on the speedo reading. The awesome thing is how fast it gets there from 130 onwards. Heading to Melbourne on Sunday morning and looking forward to the drive the car is reading 11.5 per 100 klm on a 100 klm test with cruise set at 110kph, so it will be interesting to see what the average for the trip comes out to. A good run to Vic should settle the engine in very nicely, the car has 7300klm on the clock at present. Looking forward to meeting the Victorian T and GT owners
