Rick, Simon, BBong, Phntum, Siccar? Any opinions on this? Excuse me now while I remove 250 bush/coast k's worth of fricken bugs off the car Cheers Rob:lol: Ah ha, Merc bugs are part of the fun. Mate if I get a Typhoon and also put a blower on the GT @$11000, it would result in certain divorce, although the good wife has been hinting at what she calls a "Noisey" exhaust for her Zetec, so maybe I can do a trade-off You might be right about the Gee Up from the hairdryer mob, I've been speaking to Peter at APS re a UNICHIP and will get one fitted by them.I have to postpone my drive and fly to Bris on Sat and back here on the 17th, which is a real P off as I was looking forward to the run. I've had a few challenges come up with my Academy in Qld which I have to get sorted then back here to conduct a one week training course by the 24th.Then I will be able to take some lengthy time off and come to Vic, in short I'm gonna be about a month late. I'm getting the Pacemakers fitted in my absence so the Wanneroo track day will be interesting, then over to APS in Melb for the UNICHIP, I want it done right on this car and all reports indicate that it brings the bottom end alive. I don't think I'll be getting anywhere near a 10.9 like BlownBa.The only fuel worth using over here is BP Ultimate, anything else and its ping city, I give "The Boss" a drink of octane booster about every 3rd fill.Glad your enjoying "Sweet Red", you are dead right about the open road, this is the only car I've owned that makes you just want to keep driving. The good thing is that they only get better. Get the Bug Off out and get that machine cleaned. :banghead:

Yep.......these are definately a fun car to drive, and if there are any prospective buyers out there reading this, do what merc suggests and what I did and take the demo for a good run, stuff the dealer, your shelling out good bucks for one of these beasts and a good 'twisty' run will convince you to buy one. I normally stick to Vortex but I ran a couple of tanks of Optimax through and the car does feel more responsive. I suppose 1 concern is the Oil you use as well, if you have a cheap oil in( ) then burning the higher Octane like Optimax can do damage to your engine over time, especially with some spirited(MANIAC) driving. Not that any of us do that now do we???

It cost him over 80 grand I think, could be wrong though. The car lives in an air-conditioned shed with carpet on his parents cane-farm, however it isnt on blocks, but it only has about 2000km on it and hes had it for nearly a year!! However the only two times ive ever seen it driving around it was going absolutely flat stick! The number plates are MYGTP.Hes a very busy guy and doesnt have time to drive it, and in the cane crushing season up here the car rarely sees daylight. The father has a Phase 3 GTHO in a nother shed, however it is need of a complete restoration, and I think they are about to start on it.So yeah, just thought id post that up in case anyone was interested!! I have to get on a plane tomorrow and head to Bris till next Fri. My drive to Qld and back has been completely stuffed up, even worse still I use Avis for my rentals so I have to spend a week in one of those Twitchy Rattly VY things (must remember to switch to Hertz one day) I'm gonna miss my blue beast more than I would the other half, but she's coming with me. Getting a set of pacemakers fitted while I'm away so the Track day at Barbagello should be good value. Hell I might even learn how to drive. . Anyway have a safe and happy easter all. I'll be back on the forum when I touch down here again on the 16th

I went from Liverpool(southwest sydney) down to Narooma on the states south coast and back, bout a 720km round trip. Man what a nice cruise.Set out at about 6am to beat all the Holiday traffic and picked up my mate as well. Once we passed Nowra the roads were deserted so I just set the cruise control and enjoyed the ride. I let my mate take the wheel for the first time just outside Nowra and boy was he loving it. He just purchased a 2nd hand AU series III and thought that was a good ride. I couldn't get him out of the drivers seat he was having that much fun, well that was until he got done by a mobile speed camera! just as we were rounding a bend it was there. 70km/h in a 60 Zone. DOH! Well he was happy to go back to being a passenger at that point with a few poilte words!Talk about the revenue collectors, coming back in the afternoon we seen no less than 11 marked police cars all doing there bit to ruin hard working familys holidays. I don't mind police but there is other ways of enforcing the law.(except when it comes to my mate, Im still laughing!)Fuel consumption was not to bad, 13L per 100km. I'm not sure but I think that is about the norm for my engine. Anybody else have anygood trips over the weekend?
