B&m engine and trans coolers mounted behind right side fog light, fogs taken out and mesh put in hole, derale sandwich block with thermostat to plumb engine oil cooler. Car made 414rwkw at 18psi on dynapack hub dyno but we pulled it back to 15psi 382rwkw to be kinder to driveline and pistons, I love how it goes now, lights up the tires in 2nd gear in dry, it is almost as quiet as stock on cruising and sounds boss when boosting, I might do the ims twin Bush diff hat next.
Slowxr6t Member 563 Member For: 6y 26d Location: New zealand Posted 07/06/24 01:29 AM Author Share Posted 07/06/24 01:29 AM Got my fgx tuning finished, and it is pretty darn good. 445kw. 867nm torque, 20 psi boost, drives perfectly, still has stock 3 inch exhaust and stock mid and back mufflers, but 4 inch dump and 50mm ts gate plumbs in under car. Car is very fast and hooks up good, 3rd gear sees 15psi by 3100 ish rpm and 17ish psi by 3500, 4th gets 20psi at around 4000 I think. On dyno from 5k to 6k rpm boost dropped from 20 to 16psi and duty cycle was at 100% and tuner couldnt get boost to hold 20 up top despite having gate plumbed to top and bottom ports. I do have 4.6mm id push lock air lines and stainless fittings for wastegate and solenoid plumbing and I was wondering if that size tubing could be a bit large and there is no restrictor pills in line. Also I was wondering if the stock 3inch exhaust could be preventing it from getting 20psi over 5k revs. On the dyno we could hear it change sound over 5k when boost dropped to 16psi. Im not worried because on the road when it gets to 5k revs its going so fast it doesnt matter. The Artec manifold and efr 9174 seems a nice combo for drivability and power. I like it alot. Slowxr6t Member 563 Member For: 6y 26d Location: New zealand Posted 18/06/24 10:11 AM Author Share Posted 18/06/24 10:11 AM Cheers @Puffwagon I think this will be the last incar-nation of my fgx for a long time. Im pretty stoked with how it worked out, I took my time and tried to do it all to a decent standard and didnt cock anything up which was satisfying. I learnt alot too. Also under bonnet has maximum street cred now lol. I learnt that saying off one of the blokes on this forum. Thanks @k31th that's awesome.

Slowxr6t Member 563 Member For: 6y 26d Location: New zealand Posted 25/06/24 08:01 AM Author Share Posted 25/06/24 08:01 AM @Puffwagon regarding my boost drop at 5000rpm from 20 to 16psi. Do you think my 3 inch stock, 4 inch dump back exhaust could be causing boost to drop off quickly? Its hitting 420kw at 5000rpm on dyno graph and rising to 440 at 6k with 16psi from 5-6 k rpm There must be a limit a 3 inch can flow but could it restrict boost?? You'll want 12psi of spring, give or take, to make 20psi on your setup. I've put over 20psi with a stock territory exhaust (they are mostly 3 inch) so I don't think yours is restricting it in that sense.
