Just buy the proper kit. It is labelled for the correct percentage. Edited 04/12/19 10:07 AM by arronm
cat007 Member 236 Member For: 6y 3m 7d Posted 04/12/19 10:15 AM Author Share Posted 04/12/19 10:15 AM That won't really change anything. It's just a different sized vessel with some branding on it. The concept is exactly the same. The issue above is not with calculating the ethanol % (that's pretty easy to do). Just wondering if I shook it for too long? Or not long enough? Or maybe I need to leave it for longer? It just felt weird standing around a petrol station forecourt to 10 minutes staring at a glass tube so I called it quits. I think the Indian bloke behind the counter thought I was making a bomb haha

cat007 Member 236 Member For: 6y 3m 7d Posted 05/12/19 08:15 AM Author Share Posted 05/12/19 08:15 AM Ok so 15ml of water, 45ml fuel.I get a separation line at the 54ml mark.According to the below calculator that is 86% which I don't believe. My flex fuel sensor suggests around 79-80% from that station.http://hagensdiy.blogspot.com/2012/04/diy-ethanol-content-tester.html?m=1Hmmm tried again with 70ml fuel and 25ml water. Separation line at 85ml. According to the above calculator that's 86% still.

I hope it's not the measuring device. It's a brand new Innovate Motorsports one. Not the dual %/temp one and you've got it set showing temp in degrees F ?
