I voted maybe.

When the time comes, I I'll look at it seriously. It has a few things that do make it special. I believe it has some slightly different engine internals, and it comes with plenty of gear standard. Little things even, like the pedals. And you can't buy one with standard brakes, I'll bet.

As for power, 270kw would be a nice touch over the 240, but look at that torque! 550nm! Making like 95% of it at 1750rpm or something stupid like that! Couple that with a decent six speed auto (too much traffic for me) and it would have to be something special.

As for looks, meh.. Prefer a sleeper, but I haven't bothered to debadge this one or anything. I'm SURE I could live with it though.

Just on the power again, if I was just after brawny power (lots of it), I would probably just trade this on a low K XR8 and throw a $7K CAPA blower on it. 400KW and Ford warranty

WOW

I'm not alone. Obvious choice for me, hell I'm envious of all you T owners let alone any of the FPV beasts.

"Would love to - but way out of my league".

Nope, I wouldn't buy a Typhoon. For the same reason I wouldn't buy an XR6T. Ford won't fix my damn gearbox and until they do I'll never buy another.

However if I was going to buy a car with the intent of making it a real weapon on the road I would buy a second hand manual XR6 atmo. Should get one about 18 months old for say 25 to 30 thou.

I would take it to Nizpro and throw $12k at it for bottom end up rebuild to take a turbo kit pushing 12psi. Another $8k for a T56. And another $5k for some decent brakes.

Would come in well under the cost of a Typhoon and have much more performance.

And if I had a spare $30k after all that I'd take it to Hilliers for the coupe treatment ... ah, aren't dreams wonderful???

If it was on the poll, I would vote "I would love to, but can't afford to." One of the main reasons I would be interested in getting one would be bacause it would... should have a stronger driveline, gearbox, etc. I really like the look of it too.

have added that to the poll :) I think many members can relate to that one..

Just as well I didn't vote (until now that is).

just with everyone saying they not worth the extra $$$,

my T cost me $53k onroad, so I'm guessing the Typhoon will cost $57-59-ish including on-roads.

An extra 4-6K and I get a full sexier bodykit, 18's, better suede/leater sports seats, extra 30kw power, extra 100nm torque, plus the little bits (FPV alarm, Defensive Driver course, alloy pedals, FPV starter button) all in a "Limited Edition" beast that will turn more heads than my current T.

forgot some bits, Much better brakes standard, and the "gearbox" remains to be seen, the FPV site is listing it with a 5-speed manual. ie the XR8 box I'm guessing. Eitherway is an improvement over what the standard T has.

It is actually quite well priced ...... in my opinion.

I think you'll be lucky to get it on the road for less than $65k
