Error code P0305

Hey guys new to the forum, just bought myself an 2011 fg xr6t with 120k on the clock and barely made it home before the engine light came on. Put a diagnostic tool on it and the error code says P0305 cylinder 5 missfire, I am assuming its a coil, is this a common problem? Seems to be really bad at lower revs. Got to be a record owned the car for about and hour :(

I'm not sure if you've purchased or sold cars before, but it's not uncommon for people to "sell away their problems" and you may have just been the victim of such a circumstance...

 

and yes, it's very likely to be a coil or spark plug related problem with that code.

Yep, got it from a dealer drove really smooth for about an hour then I felt the misfiring.

It was serviced every 5000kms overkill for sure but well looked after. Devostated ill have to get it towed back to them hoping they arent going to be funny about it...

it's OK to drive the car back to the dealer... they should have some sort of small warranty period and you should be fine to just shove the problem back onto them... perks of not buying privately good luck.

It drives really shaky though and the dealer is about 30-40mins away. Feels like crap driving it, my biggest purchase to date im 24 and that sinking feeling like I I <3 Bananased up is horrible.

As Keith said, depending on your state you should have some sort of statutory warranty - usually three months. I'd ring them because they should either tow it or authorise you to take it somewhere local for repair

Currently in the mechanics, hes found a cracked pipe that leads to the engine I think from.the airflow he said. He said this could be the cause of the misfires, hes changing it out now. Hoping it fixes it
