For what it is worth IMHO:Sports leather (unless you like the feel of sitting on a chux cloth seat)premium brakes (because the standard ones really suck - spend the time and read the topic on brakes, it is the weakest part of the BA) Topic is located at http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...?showtopic=3284The above are essentials, any other options depends upon how much your wallet can stand! Guest Goyta Guests Posted 08/03/04 06:46 AM Share Posted 08/03/04 06:46 AM Thinking leather seats are the go. Worried about articles about the drive train and the forum in which everyone seems to have had 1 - 2 gearboxes replaced in warranty period. Are you guys racing your toys or is this general driving experiences?

They are always overpriced in my opinion and you will have to effectively pay stamp duty (probably around 5%) on them too. Dealers may offer options for 'free' as part of the bargaining process, but remember these options are overpriced to begin with.* Leather seats - not cheap, have their pros & cons.* Premium brakes - not cheap, may not be needed. Theres a thread referring to the changes made to Oct 03 build brakes and onwards. If you dont go to the track and dont give ya brakes heaps then the standard stoppers are fine imho.* Premium sound - not a bad option.* Factory alarm - can be fitted later at a dealer. Not sure what forums youre reading Goyta in which you refer to 'everyone having 1-2 gearboxes replaced under warranty'.Ive almost had my car 2 mths and it has been faultless so far. Are you guys racing your toys or is this general driving experiences?Hmmmm well there could be just one or two boy racers here Go for the luxury pack - it amounts to about a 10% discount if you can get them to throw it in for you. This is not unreasonable as they will give 10% to cash purchasers ie no trade-in. AND if you agree to spend another 4 to 5 thou, say on sat nav, sunroof, mats, scuff plates, mud spats you might get them very interested in a deal. Good luck BTW do NOT buy the factory alarm - it's a crock. Get a Sentry or similar fitted after you take delivery.

Most fun you can have with your pants on!If you don't want to have fun, choose the option that says NA (normally aspirated). But life is too short for boring driving. And no, 15000 km and not a gearbox problem in sight (I have a manual trans). But then again, I don't drive like a complete bas*ard..... very often. Guest Goyta Guests Posted 08/03/04 07:05 AM Share Posted 08/03/04 07:05 AM There is a thread in one of the forums I was reading last week where a few of the guys were having troubles with 4th - 5th crunching etc. Just wanted to know if this was common or if they have been realy pushing their cars. But appreciate the feedback

The car is in getting a few minor things fixed, I haven't mentioned it yet.Waiting to see if it's still apparent, or it was my crap driving at the time. Ford leather is 1/2 vinyl and looks crappy anyway. Agree with the brakes, I got stock brakes, they suck.Rob
