I am one of the ones that has experienced the wheels being stuck on. I removed the black disk after changing to DBAs (the slots look cool, alright), and found that a week or 2 later the wheel was very hard to remove. Had also read the same from a member here (and at FF- JR is his name), so I have re-installed my black disks. I think it is more to do with the 17 in rims than the 18s.

There was a big thread on the whole issue, but cant for the life of me find it right now.

Yes, JR is the guy I knew of previously with the stuck on rims. Met him and saw his car at yesterdays show'n'shine, he popped in during the afternoon as he was in the area.

I have removed the spacers from mine and my front wheels have been off once since the event and I had no trouble getting the wheel off!! maybe if you put anti seize on the wheel studs befor you put the nuts back on, I always make a habbit of it!!

Met him and saw his car at yesterdays show'n'shine,

Offtopic:

Genebaby - was that your car yesterday with the FPV-Tickford Club in front of Old Parliament House ? If so I had a good perve at your car - what was with the BA N/a that had removed the 6 from the end of the XR6 on external badges ? I didn't get that.....

My better half used to work with Bruce H.

Hi, yes that was me and my car.

That was the blueprint one at the end? That was JR's car. Just the other week he had the carbon fibre XR8 bonnet with the bulge unpainted and also a carbon fibre GT wing put on. He previously had the '6' on his car but I think he doesn't want to give the game away too easily that it's a N/a six with an XR8 bonnet. He is looking to get them made up in big numbers for people and so far the XR8 is the only one they have made up, his is sort of a prototype, but there have been a few others made.

since more and more people are upgrading thier wheels, some are leaving the spacers on, others are taking them off..

I want to know.. I will be changing my wheels this weekend :)

whats with that. a bonnet bulge on a N/A. that's like putting a pair of sox down your pants to impress when clearly there is something missing.

Ive got premos and hence no dust sheild, when I changed my front disc pads wheels were a pr!ck to pull off, still got them off..so there migh be something in the spacer theory.
