Traction control light

Hey guys anyone know if it’s just my car or what. Got a bf Ute and my traction control button is there obviously but there is no light that comes on. Just got me p’s and wanna do some mad skidz anyone know. And do you have to be at a stand still to turn it off or can you do it while driving?

1. the traction control button should cause the light to come on if you press it.

2. if you try to lose traction in the wet you'll notice the light flash and that's traction control activating.

3. if you're not getting the flashing ever or you cannot get the light to stay on permanently through the button then your traction control is likely disabled through some sort of circuit/electrical problem and you'll be able to do skids if you so desire.

 

I hope you're doing this on a private road or an organised skid pan day because we don't condone illegal behavior here

Any way to permanently disable the TC? It nearly sent me into a tree once. Due to the traction control I had no power whatsoever and my tyres regained grip whilst the car was sideways. An extremely dangerous "feature".

yep, it's definitely the car's fault for trying to regain grip while you're sideways... lol

It is, because if my power wasn't cut and I was able to continue to apply throttle, I would have easily accelerated out of the slide. Instead, I regained traction due to the T/C and ended up on the median strip.

I fail to see how having T/C on is supposed to be safer. You basically lose control of the vehicle when it's activated.

no, it controls your wheelspin, if you are spinning at the time and it cuts power, then it means whatever lead up to it (to cause wheelspin) is at fault, not the car.
