Hey guys new to the ford scene..just wanting to know if this is normal or not..(car is stock auto)

So basically sometimes depending on speed or my car load I’ll plant my foot to floor there’s about a 2 second delay then all off a sudden I get the big power kick.. then there is other times it kicks in almost instantly?

I'm going to assume it's an XR6T... so it is likely it's just related to turbo spool and load in the gear in question (road speed)

Yeah I’m not sure how it works but there is a delay sometimes if I plant foot to floor other times it just pops in hard I was doing bout 80km when I planted it and there was a delay if that helps not sure what gear was about 3 rpm

well, 3000 rpm will basically mean immediate full-boost spool and power applied and the revs will probably rocket along and probably push you up to 120ish very fast from 80km/h... but at other times then the gear may have to go back to a lower gear when you push the foot down there's a delay there plus the spool time. pretty standard for automatic turbo cars.
