I've had my BA xr6t ute parked up for a few yrs whilst doing up my patrol and just bringing it back on the road now. It's done 100k and it seems to have a noise in the torque converter or transmission. Its stock but I've just put a full turbo back x force system on it and it will be going up to Hi Torque for injectors, valve springs and tune. When ringing around to get advice on the BTR auto rebuild I'm getting mixed advise. Burliegh autos says he can rebuild it to handle 300rwkw and others say no chance it will break. I prefer to drive an auto and I don't flog the ute with the exception of standing on it now and then for a buzz. Am I wasting my time rebuilding this auto? If so what are the manual options and cost of changing it. Some searches on the forum mention the T56, is this the go to manual transmission for the Ba? As mentioned I'd rather stay auto but at the same time don't want to spend 2700 for a rebuild then have to do it all again. Any heads up would be appreciated thanks There's also a guy selling btr boxes for 2800 on Ebay and he says his box will handle up to 400rwkw, is he dreaming or is this possible https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ford-Falcon-BA-BF-BTR-4-Speed-Reconditioned-Auto-Trans-High-Performance/222545906265?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20180816085401%26meid%3D69065848313e44e49082bdb52aea6149%26pid%3D100970%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D361695550107%26itm%3D222545906265&_trksid=p2481888.c100970.m5481&_trkparms=pageci%3Ae6825468-8fee-11e9-9117-74dbd1804765|parentrq%3A5e894ad016b0a4e88367a9e5ffd52c7d|iid%3A1

Much more than 300rwkw and you're asking for it to fail, realistically.

It won't get driven much as I work away and I'm pretty good on my cars. Might be worth trying g the rebuild and keep my fingers crossed

Not sure if @Red Tonner / @genuine honest person / gunna still comes on this forum but if so he could give you some feedback, he's in the Caloundra area from memory so you could possibly use the same guy to build your trans? Ive read plenty with around the 300rwkw mark that seem to be holding up and a few that have let go so I think I'll roll the dice on the Btr and see what happens.
