7k is a lot less than 30k.

If you want one of the last turbo barras then that's a hefty changeover to pay, but some will say worth every cent. however your FG2 is basically one of the last ones anyway.

Unless you just garage it AND don't drive it, either one will both feel tired after 8 years anyway, so depends on how long you want it for and how much.

my BF is feeling old and tired: its 8 years old and 95,000km (fairly low kms, garaged), and needs some $$ and TLC now. Changing from that to a Sprint would be a much easier decision than from a 2 year old FG2!

Yeah I do agree with you it's a big number to changeover and I will need to drive the car a fair bit with kids in it etc etc..

Maybe some mods are on the cards! Just been checking out shock works as I'm in Melb seems as if they have some awesome

Brake & suspension upgrades worth checking out..

Bilsteins were one of the best things done on my car, an improvement you feel every time you drive it, no matter how you drive it.

I have a 4yo and a 7yo, and know full well that your chances of keeping an absolutely pristine vehicle are slim when kids are involved. food, jacket zippers, prams, scooters, bikes and now school bags.

Similar feeling to SSBB even down to the tired feeling (I've got 279,000km, owned since 37,xxx).

Would LOVE the final "beast mode" aka F6 spec XR6T, but if I had to choose I'd rather save money and spend on a pristine low km BF F6. That's personal taste though, I prefer the sleeker shape to all others.

In your position, with the kids and all messing it up, hard call, but I'd stick with the FG2 and mod it. Shockworks are raved about, people that have had Billies say the Shockworks are better again (I'd imagine so being the designer was part of the FPV engineering team). I know my Konis were a fantastic upgrade from stock (and tired) XR suspension.

Doesn't take much at all to mod them to be faster than an FG F6 if you're chasing the turbo rush.

Resale doesn't come into it for me since I'm not interested in selling any Barra turbos that I am lucky enough to own!

Perfect world? My existing BFII, a BFII phoon and the final "Sprint" FG-X Turbo to roll off the production line purely for bragging rights. The best value performance car and best engine this country has produced!

Good luck in your decision :)

OP surely the changeover won't be that extreme? Your car would be worth 35k ish? so only 15-20k changeover? (but assume you owe money still?).

I wouldn't mind owning a FGX Sprint one day.....but with my unfortunate finances, I'd have to buy second hand one and don't really see them being common enough/sold too frequently in the near future.

Lets see if you stick to 'tuned to F6 power' (pretty sure you can do that from tune only lol). Good luck either way dude!

It's definitely a personal choice. Happy for someone to correct me if I'm wrong but to get a new set of brembo's is gonna set you back heaps, on top of everything else. I'd think 7K would be quite conservative (unless you picked up some second hand for a couple o' K). Being that yours is so new, I wouldn't say it's ideal. You'll lose heaps on your car. I wouldn't imagine you'd be offered anymore than about 24-25 for the car mate. It's a lot to lose on a car with 20K clicks. I'd go suspension upgrade and like a stage 1 pack from somewhere and you'll be laughing. Unless you really love the shape.

Peter - They are going for between 30-35 retail with his rough sort of kms.

If they buy it for 25,000 and put it up for say 32,990 to try and be competitive. 2,000 will go straight to the company pretending it wasn't in the deal (to cover things like accounts department etc that don't generate the company any income) - That's 27,000 it owes them, say it sits for a few weeks, so they drop it to 30,990. Then someone comes in and offers 28,000 plus on roads, they decline and say they can have it for $29,000. in their eyes they've made $2,000. That's if the car is in 100% perfect condition. Meaning it doesn't even need to be clean/detailed/tyres/body touch ups etc. which generally every car will need a proper clean before putting it on the lot - some places will use their own cleaners, some will use a professional company they liaise with (like us) which costs $330 for a full detail and clean.

Love the shockworks gear, have the coilovers and front brakes. Get that and spend some money on a few engine mods and you will be well ahead of anything ford bring out and you can spend 15k on a holiday
