Hi everyone sorry for the long post but I really need some help. Im looking at buying a 2012 xr6t manual with 5000kms from a dealer.

Its about 10hrs away so had my brother look at it for me this afternoon.

It has a turbo back exhaust

intercooler with coldside piping

Battery relocation with airbox in its place

bov

Not sure on tune and he said it didnt sound like it had a bigger fuel pump.

When it started it struggled straight away to idle, dropped straight to about 200rpm then died. He could only get it to idle if he gave it a slight rev.

Said it drove like a bit of a pig until it hit about 2000 then it was smooth through the rest of the rev range.

When he let it into nuetral the revs dropped to about 2000 and wouldnt go any lower without revving it again.

He said that it blew black smoke when they revved it stationary...not alot but it was noticeable. He said it smelt like fuel.

In the end it wouldn't even start and they're onsite mechanic said he replaced the plugs a few days ago.

Threw a code up as well, p0801 which is the reverse inhibit solenoid.

Any advice on what is going on is appreciated. Im not going to buy it but if its somthing simple like a tune...

Thanks in advance.

Lol they flashed it back to stock with big injectors installed. Now you don't know how long they have been driving it around like that.

Does anyone think it would have damaged anything running like it is for unknown/ up to 5000 kms?

If it is as simple as getting it properly tuned by someone that knows what they're doing that would be good.

Maybe you need to get someone who knows these cars to have a look at it? At the very least a compression test or something..
