Get the Ford - they can be sleepers quite easily. Inexpensive to buy 2nd hand and inexpensive to maintain. I know what you mean about the Euros - had an Audi A4 - really liked the looks but farrk me - come service time it was the proverbial money pit. Window winder mechanism failed - spent about $450 to replace it. On my Ford window sometimes doesn't go up - easily solved with a $2.70 can of silicon spray :roflmbo:

What do you want the car for? Straight line performance or something to take through the twisties? How far do you want to go with modifications?

The M3 will be much better to drive on a mountain road but the falcon will munch it in a straight line.

The falcon will be cheaper to look after in the long run if you don't go stupid modifying it.

Everyone has a different definition of 'not going stupid' on modifications and it is usually relative to their bank balance.

the point I was making is if you keep it to under 450, its pretty reliable if you dont bounce it off the limiter.

the big expense comes from chasing 500+

Whereas I'd say that chasing 450 on stock internals in your daily driver, expecting reliability (over x amount of years) is stupid.
