NOPE!

They're only asking more (5k) because lower k's His dream'n mate. Plus its lowered ill ask for a the car to be run over the pits. How did they lower it?

This one from your selection has 1k more k's and 4.5k cheaper. This is the one ill pick. The 5k you save you can start on mods and tune. Plus nicer looking car.

Cheers thanks for that. Might not be too much change from 15k....rego, RWC and a major service would set me back $2.5-$3k roughly? Good thing it's already got around 300rwkw!

^^ plus that one already has 298rwkw apparently (and I think BPR dyno reads a little low?)

Yeah saw this. I sunk $10k into modifying my Stagea to reach 300 awkw....don't have the $$$ this time round so the less work and money I have to do the better!

How bulletproof are the engines? Any major issues I need to worry about?

Oh sh*t, my last car was a stagea too :P

C34 series one.....and I also sunk 10k....except I was a dumb c*nt cause didn't research things properly (I.e. paid $440 for genuine dixcel PLAIN rotors and could have easily done a brembo conversion) and it was mainly maintenance related stuff :( wish mine was 300rwkw

I think the only issue you may have with this car is maintenance type stuff (cause 100,000kms).....if getting ZF auto you will have to do service and buy a PWR heat exchanger too or else MILKSHAKE. Then you'll have bushes to worry about soon enough...

I had a M35...really loved that car, had it on JTG LiLPG and ran great. Great sleeper/family wagon...sigh so depressed it's wrecked...

With 300rwkw...will traction be a problem? Never had an issue in the Stagea since it was AWD...

What's the avg cost of servicing the ZF auto? When you say PWR heat exchanger...you mean like a trans cooler?

No worries mate remember that's asking price always try to talk them down a few k's more.

300 wont be an issues just leave traction on and you'll be fine. Test drive a standard one then go and test drive that one and see the difference.

Service for ZF will depends on who does it. A PWR heat exchange is highly recommended should set you back around $800 - $900. Yes it's a trans cooler.

The other that is common and everyone knows is the rear end, Diff Bushes.

^^ WHS...do a search for "milkshake" and you will want to do it asap lol

Also good tyres make a HUGE difference...had average Falken PT722 tyres..back end would slide in wet even doing 30kmh through large roundabouts..got Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's and confidence came back for sure!

You'll be fine (cause stagea wasn't proper 50/50 AWD IIRC?)...jusy don't be a hero in the wet and she'll be right :P

Depends what you consider a problem. .. and on the tune. My tune hits really hard so first gear lights up if I plant it every time even with semi slicks on (but not as bad with semis)

It's fun I like it

And of course you can pedal it so it doesn't happen..

But yeh it's definitely not like an awd where you can just floor it and never lose traction more than a little chirp

Hey guys, I apologise in advance if there is already a thread on here somewhere about this..

I'm looking at buying a reasonably new second hand ute and for a long time now I've been quite fond of the FG Mk2.

For those of you who know the area, I live in Nelson Bay and travel 5 days per week to Newcastle for work (68km one way).

As I'm sure many of you would understand, I have my heart set on the Xr6t, however after reading through several reviews, I've developed an opinion that the n/a xr6 is a much more reliable car than it's forced induction counterpart. Due to the extensive driving I do during the week, reliability is unfortunately my absolute top priority.

To provide a little more context, In the last 12 months I've done 40,000kms so it's really important to me that the car I purchase provides reliability in the long term.

My question is, would any of you consider the n/a fg mk2 ute to be significantly more reliable than it's turbo counterpart?

Also, would you consider the manual transmission to be more reliable than the zf 6 speed? I've heard about the dreaded 'Zf milkshake' however after reading more reviews I've come to associate this mainly with drivers who do heavy towing.

Ultimately, I desperately want the turbo, but I need to know that she won't give me too many headaches! One way or another, I need to make up my mind once and for all!!

Please advise.

Cheers!

Hi All. I have a 2013 FG XR6T with 20,000ks on it. I love it having previously owned a BA XR6T for

Many years prior.. The idea of the new FGX XR6T Sprint with the F6 motor, brembo's & stiffer Suspension is getting me excited. I know nothing is confirmed as yet though but my dealer tells me

He has people putting down deposits on them already & they will def be cheaper than the XR8. So my

Dillemma is to keep my FG which is stock & modify it to "Sprint spec" or just bite the bullet & upgrade to the

FGX. I have not modded any of my XR6 T's before. If I was to keep the FG I'd look at Brembo's on the

Front at least, tune to F6 power & king springs with bilsteins. I'd estimate this will cost around 7k approx?

Changeover to the FGX will hurt at about 25 to 30k roughly depending on how much they go for. Not

Sure about future resale of the Sprint but as it's the last model it possibly maybe better than previous

XR 6 T's

Any thoughts ? Cheers.
