I am about to sell my VE E3 Clubsport and looking at a FG XR6T. My car has 405rwhp so I didnt want to drop too much power on my next car. I am doing this to free up some money for work round the house. I am currently torn between 2009-2011 FG MKI (between 22-26k) both most have 70,000+ km'sor a low Km 2013-14 FG MKII which will cost me about $30-32k but most have less than 40,000kms. I dont think there was a huge difference between the MKI and MKII, Just wondering on peoples opinions. Not a huge choice over here in WA. I like the Luxury Turbo's tech, but not sure if I like their asthetics. They seem a little tame looking, specially coming from my VE which looks pretty mean.Cheers in advance Edited 25/12/14 09:49 AM by Legalis

As far as I know there are no auto models left, only manuals, so that might be a factor in your decision. I wouldn't purchase a band new XR6T, I'd grab a low km second hand one and put the money saved into mods, they really unleash with the right gear. Now it's time for me to find a new work ute and iv decided to go with an xr6t.Is there things I should specifically look out for when going over one and test driving it?Also how reliable are they in pretty stock to mild modification form? I know that everyone will have different troubles at different times but yeah. I have a bit of mechanical knowledge, a bit. Not a lot ... Thanks for your help peaps.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

But minor mods shouldn't cause too many issues. Depends on many things, like driving style, luck of the draw..ie some people just sadly get a lemon and some just get a really good one.. , how much you abuse it. Etc. Hopefully you find a good one. I've been okay for just over 4 years now in my BA. As mine is 10 yrs old - its more general wear and tear that's to be expected of a 10 yr old vehicle. There should be threads on here about common issues for each model BA BF FG. Gud luck in your search. Don't hesitate to throw up any links of possible purchases as some members on here may recognise the car and give you some history on it plus we're sticky beaks
