From everything I've read on the forum and from convo's I've had with him via PM I'd trust a car he's owned immensely more than some random. The guy is OCD and doesn't do things half hearted.

Also a low KM engines that hasn't had any mods is nice too, BUT ... always happy to look

Not saying that the car you are looking at has never been modified, but its very easy to return them to stock.Looking at the pictures above the car has an aftermarket turbo oil feed (dodgy install based on line routing) and is missing the back part of the exhaust manifold heat shield. Makes you question the history if its a low km unmodified motor?Unfortunately I can't stretch the budget to his car, what were peoples thoughts on the one I am getting??That hectic open pod is a yellow sticker job so look at replacing it with eiher an OEM air box or aftermarket enclosed intake.Does the overflow have any coolant in it or is it just full of water? It looks terrible.$10k is cheap..........................

There is coolant, I checked, they do that when they sit a while. You guys should see the crap that's out there. I have been looking for ages and trust me they are bad. This guy openly said he not hugely mechanical but I'm glad hes put that aftermarket feed on there being a BA.

These cars can cost a sh*te load of money at times unfortunately. And if you're really stretching the budget and unknowingly get a lemon it'll get you offside really quickly. Sure, you'll be getting an "unmodified" car for 10K...but stuff will break, especially if you mod it later. Something like Ralph's car won't need anything done to it and with the driveline and bush upgrades he's done you shouldn't have to spend any money on it and it won't be anywhere near as likely to much components...which will save you money and hassle long term.
eseriesaddict Member 27 Member For: 10y 8m 12d Posted 31/05/14 03:08 AM Share Posted 31/05/14 03:08 AM I appreciate that guys, I have committed to buying this one, and I dont have plans to modify it to be honest. Ive had my time with pushing cars to their limits and just looking to upgrade from the EL and have a lil fun on the way. I almost bought a XR8 but I don't trust those boss motors, they wear valves and burn out pistons at the age I'm looking at. While Ralphs car looks great, I set my self a limit for what I would spend on a car and that's that. I do have some spare money but it will be for other things at this stage of life. This one also has had the diff bushes replaced when they had the clutch doneJamo

Post up pics impressions etc once you get it. Do you know what bushes were fitted? Ceramic button would be yuck around town.
