My mate had to replace his BA gearbox a while back shortly after buying it and his car is a standard model. The BA bottom ends are the same as the early BFs so unless you buy a BF mkII this won't change. The vibration might be an engine mount or exhaust hanger that's chit itself or just a sign the car needs a decent service.
