Hate to say it mate but the BAs main weak point is the gearbox. My mate had to replace his BA gearbox a while back shortly after buying it and his car is a standard model.

I'd aim for a BF for piece of mind

At stock power the BA autos aren't that bad. The BA bottom ends are the same as the early BFs so unless you buy a BF mkII this won't change.

The vibration might be an engine mount or exhaust hanger that's chit itself or just a sign the car needs a decent service.

I'm looking to buy an xr6T. I Don't want to spend much more than 10 000 though so I guess im limited to the Ba XrT. Is there much of an accelaration/power difference between the Ba and Fg? Would a simple flashtune make it quicker than the Fg?

Ask WA member johnxr6t what he thinks about his flogged out BA hahaha.

If you think you will hammer the car and not have a big budget for maintenance maybe the BA would be the go.
