"He'd be damned if any slopes were gonna put their greasy yellow hands on his boy's birthright. So he hid it in the one place he knew he could hide something. His ass. Five long years, he wore this watch up his ass. And then he died of dysentery, he gave me the watch. I hid this uncomfortable hunk of metal up my ass for two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. "

I'm looking at a few Fg xr6 turbos and was wondering how many k's is too many?

Would a mildly stock Fg be better then a fully modded ba/bf?

And are the fpvs much better then the xr's?

Cheers

fg is a more refined car, but I reckon the b series looks ballsier.. just seem tougher imo..

fg turbo has a smaller turbo than b series, fg fpv is the same as b series.

standard turbo on fg will peak at 320ish rwkw, standard turbo on b series and fpv's will go well into the 400's

b series is alot cheaper than f series.

happy choosing...

Depends how long you plan to own it for.... I personally would prefer not to own one above sort of 180-200,000k's.... so when buying mine I mainly looked at ones under 100,000.

(and it isn't that they won't last WELL past that, it's just that maintenance becomes more expensive)

BF/FG have the 6 speed auto's which are a lot better than the BA 4 speeds... FG also gets better fuel economy, and they're a fair bit faster standard, but as mentioned, less power potential with the stock turbo.

FPV's usually have a bit of a jump in power, some stronger components, body kit, wheels, different interior trim and some standard extra's. Whether it's worth the money would be personal preference. I'd love to own one, but don't think I could justify the bump in price for what I want (in regards to the turbo's... V8's atm are a different story obviously because FPV is the only option).

Goodluck,

Hey all I'm a newbie around here wondering about what to get next.

Basically I'm 22 and enjoy driving cars that have power behind them but are fun to drive. I currently have an 02 M3 and while I love the car to death the maintenance costs are killing me - just had to do a $5000 subframe repair. So I'm looking for something to replace it - budget is around $40-45k and looking for something with factory warranty.

Basically what I want to know is will the trade to the XR6T be worth it for me? Are they good cars and fun to drive? Anything else I should look for?

Thanks guys

I would say that you will hate the falcon after being in an M3.

Before I sound like a massive hypocrite, the 6 turbos are a great car and awesome value for money. Plenty of room, easy to get power out of and they handle ok for a big heavy car. The parts are relatively cheap and there are plenty of specialists too.

The problem you will face is that build quality is not as good as Euro, the chassis is designed to be a taxi instead of a Sports coupe and you won't have any exclusivity in a falcon...lol

Ultimately you will want to drive one yourself - maybe I am sounding like a car snob, but that M3 is one of the best cars I have ever driven...
