The FG comes with the Tremec TR6060 box, and is capable of holding 480RWKW's. Much more bullet proof than the ZF auto. Better resale and more fun. The manual box can be a little notchy, but easily fixed with a Mal Wood Short Throw Shifter. Cheers Edited 28/10/12 11:03 PM by Impellor

It's not a sign of a shagged box.

I forget what stock squirters on FG XRs are good for but it's not heaps. Cat is a very big restriction. Really good to do dump too though, and cooler SO inj/dump/cat/cooler hahaha

Benny Member 1,869 Member For: 21y 3m 19d Gender: Male Location: Newcastle Posted 29/10/12 09:30 AM Share Posted 29/10/12 09:30 AM Yep, only thing is Tune cost about $1700 at a reputable place here in Perth, not sure if it's worth it I'm not going to say anythingas I don't know all the ins and outs e.g it might take a whole 9-5 day to tune if that's the case then $1700 justifies it if its around $200 or so per hour for tuning.Just not sure who to take the car to I've been thinking about Flash Tune Vs On Dyno.... or load flash tune on, then take it to dyno to get it checked out and fine tuned. But if anything once I decide, the first mods I'm thinking are either :1 - Dump/Cat + Tune2 - Cooler + Tune3 - or Injectors + Tune4 - Intake + Tune.Which of these do you guys reckon would be the best bang for the buck as the first modIf you are in Perth then I wouldn't go anywhere else other than Simon at XFT. A flash tuner will be about $700 and I'd think the tune would be about $700 as well. $1400 is the going rate for this work and worth paying if you want a reliable tuned car. Considering how much it would cost to rebuild an engine after failure from running a generic tune I'd say it's money well spent. You'll see a max of approx 270-280rwkw from factory injectors so they are a must. My advice would be to install injectors, high flow cat, intercooler + piping and tune. This will max the oem GT3576 turbo resulting in approx 320-330rwkw.Benny. Bellato Donating Members 2,713 Member For: 14y 1m 6d Posted 29/10/12 10:07 AM Share Posted 29/10/12 10:07 AM Unfortunately not as simple as you'd like mate, can't do just one mod and tune. If you're short for cash and just want a bit more then do cooler pipes and tune. Under $2k and you'll end up about 260-270rwkw fairly safely (that's about a 30+rwkw gain from standard). The other options aren't as simple as mod and tune because cooler pipes could and probably would burst off and then your up for $500 you can't afford/didn't expect. Big tip I learnt on the forums is mod/tune for reliability!
