I have purchased MDF adapter plates and fitted them to the speakers. The screws that protrude from the MDF do not clear the detachable steel speaker mounting plate. Cutting the plate is not an option, as then I will be unable to mount the speaker+MDF to the plate. Is the best option to cut/grind down the screws? Interested to hear how other ute owners have dealt with this problem that shouldn't exist.
