My inlaws got their digital today and they like it, they are foxtel junkies (2 boxes in the house). They have satailite and they get only 9 and SBS on foxdigital, but the rest will follow in the next few months.

For the people who get Fox by cable, you will continue to get free to air channels, but 9 and sbs are the digital channels and the rest will be digital soon.

This makes the channels perfectly clear.

It can be worthwhile for people who do not get good reception.

 YEP

Feel sorry for the people who paid $600+ for the digital decoder. The foxdigital will deliver HD digital for all channels including free to air once the other channels sign up.

Rapt...wait. I just got Foxtel digital installed yesterday and I have been told conflicting stories about the Digital decoder. I have been told it's HD then yesterday told it's SD. This has really pissed me off because I've been told that it's HD upgradable but not any time in the near future. Thus a firmware upgrade. Foxtel are a pack of liars. I almost cancelled my installation but I took a day off work to have it installed so I said go ahead. Man it's different from old Foxtel. Will take a bit of getting use too. I will keep you informed of the SD/HD saga. I should know today. Waiting for a senior Foxtel tech to call me not some help desk person who reads everything off a sheet and tells you what you want to hear.

Oh... so what's the deal anyway with their new digital - apart from getting a cleaner signal?  Is it going to be so secure that people won't be able to buy their own gear and magnetic cards and steal the signal?

YES...... :smilielol:

Not for the first few month's anyway. :smilielol:

actually you can do it now :smilielol:

U wanna complain about the Foxtel price ? Go and live in the UK. No free-to-air live soccer (that's their game over there) unless you pay well over 100 big ones a month. Pretty simple, if you don't like it, disconnect it or dont watch it. I love it, and can't wait for my digital to be installed (disclaimer: this ad was not written by FOXTEL)

There really is no free to air over there.... you have to have a license to use a tv.... pfffft
