Don't talk to me about :nyaah: Foxtel!!!!!! I wish AUSTAR was available where I am.

Upgrades? Upgrades? Since their :o upgrades, the service has been on one hell of a downslide. Signal is not as strong, picture pixelizes way too ofter. The :o smart card checks are pissing me awf to no avail. Pitty if your watching something and lose picture and signal for a minute so they can run their ^&*&$%@*%^#*%^& SMART CARD CHECK.

Is the service cheaper? NO! Do we get more for our money? NO! I'm about to tell them where they can shove it!

Never had a prob with Foxtel and ordered my digital yesterday. Will be away all of next week so expecting to get it installed in 2 weeks. Dunno why others experience probs in Canberra.

Foxtel is Austar, one is the 'city' version, the other the 'country'

Panasonic HD TV, Model: TX-86PW200A. It has 1080i resolution and is beautful. CRT is always the best option over Plasma, LCD & Rear Projection.

Ummm, not here it aint!

Rural: Austar, CBD, inner area: Foxtel

Both have different services but the majority of channels are the same. Austar is cheaper with more available base offerings. Foxtel is just a plain and simple rip off!

They have one main difference, one works, the other is

Rapt,

Shop around....but I'm getting mine direct through Panasonic for $3,756 from an Panasonic employee. Lucky me. If I could get you one I would but one per employee and she doesn't want one. Lucky I do

Foxtel.... if they only changed their attitude to recognise customers as anything other than the enemy... they'd probably do OK.

For me, the install was a cockup as was the removal 2.5 yrs later.

If you install using their satellite dish, be sure to amend your contract before you sign up so that they agree to remove the dish support pipe (aka lightning conductor). They will otherwise flatly refuse to remove it, claiming that it'll be handy if it stays in case you wish to reinstall at a later date. Fat chance.

Plasma....unless you are limited in space don't get one for two reasons. 1. They have a life span (Gas runs down to about 70% loosing picture quality and brightness). 2. If the Panel gets white spot where a pixel burns out, it can't be fixed and the Plasma TV will need to be replaced. I am also getting the latest 86cm widescreen Panasonic HD TV, Model: TX-86PW200A. It has 1080i resolution and is beautful. CRT is always the best option over Plasma, LCD & Rear Projection.

Agree mate.

Check out the latest Choice Mag re Plasma TV's.........definately not on my wish list!!
