When I pulled the shroud off I noticed that the black plastic had come loose, which resulted in the internals of the switch springing out. I had planned on replacing the column as was told that it the most cost effective way to repair on a budget. However my landlords are wanting to get our driveway redone shortly and while I am saving the funds for a decent replacement part I wondered if I could reassemble my own switch. All internals are in good order etc. I have put it back together correctly and have gone to test whether it will start and it continually blows the ignition fuse as soon as it touches. Any tips on anything I may have done wrong that could be causing this ? My originally problem was that my key wouldn’t stay on and would spring back into the off position as soon as I let it go. Is it just a write off part or is there still hope in getting it at least useable so I am able to move my car
