I keep getting a flat battery when not using the car for >24hrs.

No lights etc. are on.

Disconnected the battery for a few days, then reconnected and all good, so worked out the battery itself is holding charge and is ok - measured Voltage which was stable.

Checked battery draw with car locked and off for >20 mins and iam seeing a 0.53A draw.

Pulled fuses sequentially in engine bay and next in cabin, but none of the circuits identify the battery draw.

Is this a faulty alternator? Where else do I look?

Following this - similar issue - battery scans ok, have gone through 3 new ones but still have similar issues (has never been flat, but one day it doesn't start 1st try, others it does)

Its an fg mk2 xr6t.

Yeah, just started happening. Checked all the grounds and they are in good shape. I replaced the main ground wires about 18 months ago as they were deteriorating - turning to dust on the inside of the plastic shielding, but this issue is only happening in the last couple of months

Anything like a dash cam or anything?

Anything plugged into the USB in the centre console (charger works there when the car is off)

etc

No dashcam. I have removed my usb charger and even tried removing the fuse for it.

I thought all battery draw must go through the fuses, so puzzled I couldnt isolate the culprit circuit.

I have a Kayhan head unit, and there was a can bus issue related to the door lock, but they fixed that with an update. I have checked the ICC and bcm circuits and no issue there.

Did it only start after the Kayhan?

Have you got the original version that shuts off and needs 40 secs to start or the newer one that starts quick?

Still cant work out the cause of this parasitic battery drain.

Any recommendations for a autoelectrician in the hills district / parramatta area?
