Hey guys,

I picked up my Phase II from APS last night. After chatting to Peter for about 2 hours about the upcoming modifications on my car, I drove home in peak traffic. Under normal city driving, it felt so drivable it was hard to believe. In some ways, it was even smoother, and the mods less noticable, than the Phase II.

I took the car out at 11pm, while the streets are quieter and emptier to see just what the car had been transformed into. Unbelievable! I think I expected to be thrown back violently into my seat under full throttle. This didn't happen, which initially suprised me.....until I saw the speedo to see the needle up at around 120km before I even bothered to check. The sound the car makes needs to be heard to be believed. I stopped in the tunnel on the Monash, and accelerated through the gears - the sound echoing and bouncing off the walls would have made anyone car enthusiast drool.

I am more than impressed with the car. Its far more drivable than I expected, idles like a stocky, but bites like you have no idea when pushed - a HSV Malloo Ute was very severely embarrased last night. :bigdrool:

The 'turkey wobble' when easing off the throttle is the only other real noticable difference when driving.

The auto is defeinately making quicker, more deliberate shifts. This is one finely tuned unit, and I want to thank all the guys at APS for their professionalism, expertise, and availability to meet and talk about individual clients requirements.

Anyone considering Phase III should take this little summary as a big thumbs up.

I'd be happy to take any members who are in the West of Melbourne for a drive some time. I'm moving to Fortitude Valley in Brisbane next Tuesday (9th March). My car will be shipped there in 3 weeks, hopefully after the custom body kit has been fitted and painted.

Once again, thanks APS...I am now the owner of a true, finely tuned, Australian Supercar.

Cheers

Dave

Well done Dave, the car sounds great. Are you planning on taking it to the strip to see what it can do?

Geea.

so does the car break traction when you put your foot flat to the floor from a stand still and is the power much more noticable from the phase 2??

XR6_Turbo_Phase II,

Mate, Glad you like the Phase III. Sounds like fun. I only hope you remembered the fixed speed cameras in the Tunnel (both ways) and stuck to under 80Km/h. I think there are at least 2 in the Monash bound side... I'd hate for you to get a going away presie in the mail..... :bigdrool: Good luck on your move..

Hi XR6_Turbo_Phase II,

What RWKWS and Boost Level did you end up with compared to the phase II?

Does it spin the wheels easier. ie will it spin at say 100kms/Hr?

Cheers

I always drive with traction control off. Sure it breaks traction....and if I didn't get to know the car's ability in Phase II, I would be crazy to even nail full throttle with traction control off. Even in Phase II, travelling at 80km, dropping it to 2nd, would cause the car to fishtail, accelerating over 100kph in a very controllable way...sort of.

You have no doubt that you have stepped into a Phase III - yes, there's a very noticable increase in power.

Hey thanks.

Yeah, I know for a fact there are 8 fixed speed cameras in that damn thing. All I did is come toa complete stop, and then accelerate up to 80km...a few times in 2nd, a few times in first....hehe...what an experience.

Thanks for your comments!

RWKW has jumped from 270 something to 308.5 RWKW. The manuals would show around 330 RWKW...shows how much gets absorbed by the auto...even though it is the quicker unit.

Max Boost is only around 16

Sh*t yeah it would spin at 100kph...
