Peter, will your NSW distributers be getting the special tool?

I heard it will be double the price to have them fitted otherwise.

G'day owna , We are currently looking at making a number of these special tools so that our dealers interstate can change the valve springs without removing the cylinder head. I hope that the tool will be available in approx 4 weeks. :hiwelcome:

Fordtech, thanks for that I would be interested in the price, let me know when you can. I did check with ford about a year ago and was told no sst was available. Look foward to your reply. :thumbsup:

Hi Peter, can you elaborate on what type of valve springs you use to replace the orginals??? Also will your dealers in QLD recieve the special tool as well??

I would need to check tomorrow, We had a batch of test springs produced O/S I will need to check with the APS engineering manager as to the spec. Will let you know by friday. :hiwelcome:

my car is at autotek at granville getting the springs done tommorrow there useing xr8 springs(I think will now tommorrow)

Hey Fordtech, would be much appreciated if you could supply the part# of the Ford Genuine Special Tool for the valve springs and price for my dealer told me theres no such thing!!! :thumbsup:

Also XR6ikness can you please tell me all about the job your getting done at Autotek in Granville ... are they changing the springs in the car or are they pulling the head off??? Do they have a special tool and how long did they take to do the job??? Also how much did they charge to do the job and what did 24 XR8 valve springs cost???

There is a seperate tool for each camshaft.The inlet tool :part no- 303-452 is about $240 and the exhaust tool :part no- 303-567 is about $100. They are available through a company called SPX Australia on 95446222.I dont know whether they are an exclusive tool supplier to Ford or if they sell to the general public.If you ring them I'm sure they'll let you know.
