Don't mess around with piggy back boost controllers & bleed valves. It's old technology & these aren't hack skylines from the 90's.    The factory computer doesn't like to be fooled, get it tuned properly.
The falcon computer regulates boost via the wastegate with a solenoid in a closed loop system.  The only way to do it safely is to tune it.

So puff, on the xr6t do you need a bleed valve to run more boost than the actuator? Or can the tuner alter boost through the ecu? How does it work?

My missus just got home from work mate so I'll get back to you later.

There are things you can do with a bleed valve that will work perfectly fine (that mostly still involve tuning) but for the most part you will just want to tune it properly.

It uses open and closed loop fyi, not that it's a major omission.

You are correct there actually Puff.    However I've seen a lot of nice cars ruined with bleed valves & boost controllers, just sayn

Yeah it's something you can do but it's not usually the best approach. Doing things properly and safely is best practice.
