Just wonder where should I get my tuned FG XR6 Turbo ( ~ 300 rwkws) serviced? At a local Ford dealer or at a well-known tuning shop? I purchased the car a few months ago from a local private owner (its first owner) with 95000 kms on the odo. All modifications and tuning had been done by the previous owner when he first bought the car. He had it done at a wellknown independent local Ford tuning workshop and he kept servicing the car at this workshop every 5000 kms for more than 7 years. Ok now because I live a bit far away from that workshop, should I service my car at the local Ford dealer (very close to my house) or I have to bring the car back to where it was tuned? I dont mind about the cost of service. I like the way how the car is running right now, smooth, quiet and very fast and I want to keep it that way at all time. Any advice? Cheers. I'd take it back every now and then when you've got the time and effort in reserve and get a local place to do the simple maintenance items (or do them yourself) at the more "regular" intervals. I do mine every 10,000km, for example. turbo's only die from oil issues when the oil supply line is blocked. If the filter is gone from there or has been replaced with a complete replacement line (braided, usually, these are), then you don't need to worry about that, just do regular oil servicing. You could get it serviced at that location and save you travelling. The car is already tuned so you would not need it tuned or touched up again unless something is wrong. I get my car services every 15000km at my local tuner, but I service the car every 7500km myself by changing the oil and oil filter.

Johnny Hohenzollern New Member 22 Member For: 6y 2m 18d Posted 26/10/18 11:24 PM Author Share Posted 26/10/18 11:24 PM I went to the Ford dealer near my home and ask them about the log book service for my car, they said it would cost about $350 for 105000 kms service which is cheaper than the tuner chargerd me last time. The dealer workshop is so clean and large, the guy at service department is very polite and friendly, he also knows my car has been tuned and modified. # Ford Freak, I live in Canberra and I know there are a few independent Ford specialists in town but they are all far away from where I live (at least 30 mins drive), the current tuner of my car is the furthest in distance, they are well-known and easy to talk to but they spent much more time working on a simple job. Their workshop is also very small and not as clean as Ford dealer’s workshop.

My experience so far is if you want things done properly, don't want to get ripped off and don't want stuff broken or lost - DO IT YOURSELF!!Where about are you? For things I can't do myself, I've found JAWS Automotive at Phillip very good.
