Any shaft that provides (or allows) the same direction of rotation directly to a wheel can be called an "axle", realistically. The terms I used above are ones used in the service manual for these cars and ones people on this forum use, for the sake of clarity. I replaced my uni joint and it picked up some vibration. Hardy Spicer, the uni joint manufacturer, recommends getting the tailshaft balanced after install. On my car there are plastic things, presumably for balancing, attached to the tailshaft bolts at the diff. I dunno if they are on fg models but it could be something to consider.
