Anybody know why some of these have blue dots, some have yellow, some are multi-cone spray and some are single tip?

These all have the same part number too (0280158040)?!

Any help is appreciated.

seems like a question for bosch... we can't even look up that number to know what exactly which injector(s) you're talking about, aside from googling it and that doesn't seem to turn much up that's helpful. :)

Sorry, comes up with a lot of results in google if you google it, but as you say, nothing all that useful.. just pictures and ebay links. Thought some injector guru's might chime in here that are familiar with the 040 extended tip injectors that lots of FG guys are using now.

nah, nothing about those oddly specific traits... but you can gather quite a bit of knowledge in all of those linked threads.

Hopefully this is useful... I have a large excel file with injector data (about 1600 different Bosch injectors). I have included the standard B series injector for comparison. I also included a picture to help with the spray pattern and orientation.

Just following up on my findings with the injectors dot colours that I have found thanks to my wife working behind the counter at our local auto electrical shop.

I calculated the factory flow matching tolerance in percentage for a quick reference
