Hi Everyone,

I'm having a problem with putting the ICC back in after installing guages.

Pulled the white plug out so it clicks, but still no ICC and no tach speedo or most things on the dash except fuel gauges.

I must have had it in and out 20 times.  One time the black plastic locator was bent over and not in the right place.

Bought another one just to double check it wasn't the ICC.

I'm convinced it is the ICC "self locating plug" not doing the self locating.

Has anyone cut the metal surround off that dash side of the plug (the female part) so you can manually connect the plug?

I'm a bit hesitant because no going back once it's done. One of those ICC screen replacement mobs have it as part of their install, but they don't use all the plugs on their connector.

Thanks,

Got same problem with plug. Clips on left side broke off surrounding, I think plug gets pushed back too far so there is no connection. Same instinct as yourself. Not sure what I can do without paying $500-$600+ for new Android unit. Might also be connection in circuit boards, loose solder connection.

Standing bye for further instructions, hope to find the answer.

Hi Drew, I didn't solve it. Tried all sorts of things behind the plug to hold it in position. It was either throw the car away or get one of the Android head unit, since you can plug the connector in without those locating clips.

The one I got was expensive at the time, and it was a little under powered to run lots of apps. I looked at them a while ago and they seem cheaper and more powerful now.

It was a good upgrade, bluetooth etc since the original (BA) didn't have it. So I was happy with it in the end. Still driving the car almost daily now.

It's been in there for about five years now. The only mystery thing I have is the rear parking sensors just stopped working one day, can't see how that is related to the head unit though.
