Timmy,I put in Castol Magnatec 10W40 the last time I changed. It's about the right viscosity, and well priced, I think around $25 / 5 litres.I think the most important thing is to do regular changes. If you want to read about oils check out the following threads:Topic: OIL CHANGEPosted: Apr 23 2004, 08:16 PMhttp://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...0337&hl=penriteTopic: Head to Head Oil Testing.Posted: Apr 12 2004, 10:13 PMhttp://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...0101&hl=castrolTopic: Engine Oils, Which is best for XR6TPosted: Apr 6 2004, 02:55 PMhttp://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...0002&hl=castrolTopic; Which oil?Posted: Mar 24 2004, 10:18 PMhttp://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...9806&hl=castrolTopic: Thoughts On Oils?, Thinking of changing to MotulPosted: Feb 26 2004, 10:23 AMhttp://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...9371&hl=castrolWhat Oil To Use In The T, Need helpppppppppppppPosted: Jan 21 2004, 11:45 AMhttp://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...8633&hl=castrolTopic: Changing Oil, Which oil and whenPosted: Dec 26 2003, 10:07 AMhttp://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...8132&hl=castrolTopic: Synthetic Oil From The Dealer?Posted: Nov 18 2003, 11:26 PMhttp://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...7541&hl=castrolTopic: Castrol Gtx..., fills the engine with crunchy black snotPosted: Dec 31 2003, 10:59 AMhttp://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...8230&hl=castrolTopic: Oils Aint Oils, Confused about oilPosted: Feb 12 2004, 09:07 PMhttp://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...9079&hl=castrolBrian

If you give your Turbo a hard time, I believe that the oil should in fact be changed at least every 5000k or even less.I attended the launch of the new Mobil 1 Syn, at which it was claimed that you could in fact run their oil in a turbo vehicle for 20,000 clicks. Which is all good and well, however IMHO and from the myriad of tests I have been involved with and published over the years (while taking into account that not every engine is tuned well hence the potential for fuel to wash down the bores and therefore deteriorate the viscosity), I would always recommend 5000k changes.Okay, if all a vehicle is used for is long country drives, yep, you could get away with fewer changes. Stop start driving, lots of cold starts intermingled with foot to the floor driving is definitely hard on any oil.Greg Brindley.

Look like you have put together a well thought & engineered street machine with daily drivability! If I had the money to develop my car, I would get you to manage 'Project T'....Hope to see & hear your car in the future.Cheers,Marc...
