Hi all.

Looks like I need to replace the fuel pressure regulator.  Mike (03 9676 0666) gave me a good price for a genuine part.

How hard is it to remove the old unit and fit the new one?  It looks like its held in by an O ring.

Thanks mate.

The car was running a bit rough so I dropped in to Nizpro as I was in Melbourne.  They replaced the plugs and oxy sensor, advising me not to use fuel injector cleaner.  Apparently the iridium plugs and oxy sensor didn't like the cleaner.

The car is stalling at idle sometimes so I will replace the fuel pressure regulator too.

Fitted the new Pressure Regulator today.   Fear of the unknown as this was the first time I've done the job

Info that might help other first timers.  I needed to use a couple of big screwdrivers to get the circlip to pop out.  The had to push hard to get the new regulator to press down far enough to allow the circlip to be refitted.

The car is running nicely.  Its pulling like a steam train on a whisker of throttle. I guess the fuel pressure with the old regulator was too low?  I wonder if the backfire or two at start-up over the years may have damaged the old regulator?
