You did kinda leave yourself open to the comments :longlaugh:

1809's using my standard retainers. The tuner said to go for that. It was an interesting conversation though. Like he didn't want to give out the info and started off by saying just use whatever. So having second thoughts on using him now.
He is a good guy and knows his sh*t. It would be annoying if a customer insisted on doing all the work themselves then asked for info on how to do it/what to use etc. You gotta be realistic

Yes he is a nice guy and I realise he knows his sh*t. That's was I was taken back by said phone call.

Only reason I rang to ask which springs is because when I picked up the car from them he was all positive about me doing it all. He said give him a call if I had any questions. What was I supposed to do?

Its a tuff one mate, you want to help everyone yet you end up with a bunch of people who waste your time and have to accept that’s part of the gig

at the same time try to help the genuine ones

what would you do in the reverse application ???

How did you go with the Valve tool

The crow 1809 with stock retainer is it the same seat pressure as

Vtkba6t-24 kit.

No the crow retainers are thicker so more seat pressure.

Haven't progressed much more with the tool yet, or anything else. Once I get the motor out I'll be finishing it. Having other issues at the moment.

As for the seat pressure, I got different Info from the tuna. But if you go by the Crow info, the kit has more seat pressure.

This info might not be correct, conflicting info even on the crow website.

Finally got my shed to a point where I could get the old girl back in today so spent the arvo removing the engine. Bit of work ahead but will keep chipping away at it.

Next step is start pulling everything off the engine and cleaning and prepping everything to be re-sealed, will change valve springs before re assembling, and tidy up the mess of an engine bay. It's really stuffing with my ocd at the moment.
