Depends on what Ford releaases in the future. I think Typhoon will hurt std XR6T resale.

Okay I know I'm drawing a log bow here but anyway:

F6 may slightly increase the resale values of the XR6Ts. Think about it, the F6 will steal some new car sales from the XR6T which in time will mean less XR6Ts available on the used car market. That in turn means higher resale.

I wouldn't think that the F6 would decrease the resale vals of the XR because buyers of used XRs would not be in the same market for a new F6.

well... here's hoping anyway.

I would take the typhoon over the GT, GT is too slow.

;)

Owna, what heresy are you speaking?. Don't believe the crap from wheels and motor mag. Brand new the GT is a little slow off the mark, but get a few 1000 klm up and they ain't no slug, they won't go as hard as a stage 3 or 4 APS car, but but mechanical reality begs the question HOW LONG DO THE MODDED ENGINES AND TRANS LAST? Michael from OMEGA in Sydney has a T and a GT both modded by 40kW. The GT is consistantly 6 seconds quicker around Calder.

I like the way FRPV have gotten the kW and torque improvements without straining everything else, I think the Typhoon is going to become a worthwhile collectable if it is left alone mechanically, drive wise, who knows, but I'm gonna find out in December.:thumbsup:

I doubt anyone would buy a GT or F6 only for performance. If you wanted performance, you would just buy a T and put a stage 2 APS and Whiteline handeling pack on and it would crap allover a F6 or GT/P on a racetrack. People buy the GT/P or F6 because of Street cred/resale/style not out and out performance. Myself, I would rather have a modded T as they are no show and all go.

The proposed price is alot more to pay over a standard T. I would rather stay with the xr6T than a typhoon and spend the approx. $15,000 elsewhere.

I,m with you

Reliability my friends, reliability. 350 - 400 - 500kW engines designed to make 240 or stretch to 300 can't last long without blowing a trans or the motor. I think history is beginning to show this as true. If you can get a copy of the latest FPV Blueprint mag, there is a write up on the Typhoon and this very issue by the FPV engineers, gets into the tech mumbo Jumbo, but according to FMC and FPV too many kW = too much heat and too much hand grenade potential, the engineers said they wanted 600nm of torque, but there was no long term reliability margin there. You could put a CAPA supercharger or similiar on a GT then you'd get the grunt, but you'd still have the better handling dynamics. IMHO anyway. The Ts do well in a straight line but they don't appear to perform too well on a circuit run. Big difference between a straight line run and driving a car. Oooohhhhhh, I'm waiting for the flames.

Me too,

Sorry doc, I didn't mean to sound as if I was bagging the GT I was just abit disapointed when I drove one! It was admittedly after I had the Phase II but its weight can easily be felt and I was expecting the power to come but never really arrived. It needs a little more power that's all.

My 2c that's all.
