If power is torque x rpm how can the Typhoon only have 270 kw when the GT uses a few less revs and has less torque but makes 290 kw. I think Ford are telling porkies.

I doubt anyone would buy a GT or F6 only for performance.  If you wanted performance, you would just buy a T and put a stage 2 APS and Whiteline handeling pack on and it would crap allover a F6 or GT/P on a racetrack.  People buy the GT/P or F6 because of Street cred/resale/style not out and out performance.  Myself, I would rather have a modded T as they are no show and all go. :thumbsup:

Sorry doc, I didn't mean to sound as if I was bagging the GT I was just abit disapointed when I drove one! It was admittedly after I had the Phase II but its weight can easily be felt and I was expecting the power to come but never really arrived. It needs a little more power that's all.

No worries owna, sounds like your machine is all go again, and you are pleased with it. Mate I didn't any offence, I'll be the first to admit that the T is an exceptionally quick car when its tweaked up, that is a proven fact.

I loved my T, but it was like having a real glamour unfaithful wife, just didn't know what it was going to do from day to day :spit: Now I got my GT making almost 350kW at the engine and a lot more nimble around town with the help of a full set of Pedders sports suspension and a little lowering. I know it would cost a small fortune to get it going anywhere near as quick as an APS Phase 3 or 4. I'm hanging to see what this Typhoon is like, and I can't see how for the life of me it won't be superb. Your car must be quite the EXOCET missile now? :thumbsup:

I would choose the F6 over the GT, because I love the turbo six engine, and the F6 may likely become a very rare and collectable car one day, as will the GT but the F6 is my pick.

Because the boost is cut above 4,000rpm - thus limiting torque and power output. Ford V8 owners are embarassed enough now by the T6, let alone an F6 putting out well over 300kw if the boost was left unchecked all the way to redline.

The GT is a real let down in anyone's terms.

It is more of a slug at low revs than the T6 - it has atrocious turn in - and an arse end that will not put power effectively to the ground.

For a 290kw engine in a supposedly state of the art chassis one has to ask one simple question - Why is it that an AU T3 with a 40 year old engine design is still reigning as the fastest production Ford ever built in Australia? It is quicker by 0.3 secs to 100kph and ss400m, and has no trouble with either handling (turn-in) or power-down with it's wishbone IRS.

Sorry but the GT range does absolutely nothing for me at the moment. I'd be choosing a T6 and saying to hell with warranty and going for brake, suspension, and engine upgrades with the 15-18 big one that I saved over the F6.

You are wrong. The GT is the fastest production Falcon of all time. The T3 ran 14.2 on the quarter and the GT runs 13.9. Some stock GT's have run as quick as 13.7 at Calder. The only recorded time from a magazine roadtest for the GTHO P3 was in Wheels magazine and was something like 14.2, but this may have been with the highest diff ratios and wide ratio gearbox. No one really knows how quick the Phase 3 was straight off the showroom floor with close ratio gearbox and 3.9 diff ratio which were options, but the skinny tyres would have held it back.

I assume the F6 will take the title after it's released until the supercharged Boss shows it head.
